To Bring Luck
If you would like to bring luck into your home you first need to sweep your house out from the
back to the front. You need to sweep all the way to the road or to the end of the side walk. I
have two brooms that I use for this; one is for sweeping out of the house then the other one I
use to sweep my luck into the house. You need to have your mop water ready and sitting at the
end of the side walk.
For your mop water add sugar, cinnamon, Gumbo file and some of your first morning urine. I
personally don’t use my urine in my work; I have a few times but I don’t like the feel it gives
my work. This is just how I feel about it; we each have to use what is right for us. This is a very
old work and it calls for your first morning urine.
Pour a little of the mop water on your side walk and start sweeping it towards your front door.
Keep doing this until you reach your door stoop. Once you are at the door stoop then start
dipping your broom into the bucket and sweeping the stoop upward going all the way into your
house. I always place some money right over the thresh hold and sweep it on into my home
when I do this. It is really up to you. By doing this you are bringing money and luck into the
house. You can also make a small Mojo bag and hang the Mojo bag over the front door. This
will also help draw luck and money into your home.
Use the left over mop water to mop your house with; continue on into your home.
