Oils

There are many names associated with Hoodoo oils. They are sometimes called
condition oils, conjure oils, dressing oils, and anointing oils. Hoodoo condition oils have
always been a large part of conjure hoodoo rootwork since the beginning. The recipes for
these condition oils have been passed down orally in the past; but there are a few authors
who have given their recipes freely. Most hoodoo rootworkers keep their condition oils,
conjure oils, dressing oil, and anointing oil recipes a secret, they don’t ever share the
ingredients of their hoodoo conjure oils with others.

I decided to write this page after speaking with many of my clients I realized folks really
don’t know how to use condition oils, conjure oils, dressing oils, and anointing oils. Each
conjure or hoodoo oil is named for a certain condition, there are many condition oils,
conjure oils, dressing oils, and anointing oils in rootwork. Just to name a few conjure oils,
there are condition oils with names like, money drawing, fast luck, van van, uncrossing,
love drawing, fiery wall of protection oil, the list is long. These condition oils, conjure oils,
dressing oils, and anointing oils are used to dress you, candles, mojo bags and other
items you are working with.

I was taught at the age of 18 about cleansing and healing; my son was very ill and his
Godfather taught me how to take away the fever. His Godfather also taught me that
when you remove something through cleansing or healing you have to replace what you
removed with something you want brought to you. If you don’t replace it then the
universe will fill the gap. I was shocked to find that most workers and clients know
nothing about this. The easiest way to do this is to dress yourself with a condition oil,
conjure oil, dressing oil, or anointing oil after a cleansing or healing. By doing this you
are replacing what you have removed with something you want brought into your life.

When my clients come to me and they need to take cleansing baths or they need to have
a healing done; I always advise them to dress their bodies with some type of condition
oil, conjure oil, dressing oil, or anointing oil. I like to mix a couple of different condition
oils together. This makes a powerful dressing oil that should be used daily.  Over the
years I have learned that it is best to dress yourself daily from the bottom of your feet
coming upward; than it is to wait until something happens. You should get into the habit
of doing this after your nightly bath. I like to mix fiery wall of protection, uncrossing and
money drawing oil together. I use this nightly to dress my feet and body after my shower.
